Last week was Read Across America Week. Vista had many fun activities including a visit from the NHS Cheerleaders and Mustang Mike. They visited the second grade and read to the students. It was a great time for all.

NHS Chess and Checkers Club is having a tournament. 32 players started this double-elimination tournament and cash prizes will be awarded. Students meet at lunch to challenge their skills and have success against their peers.
Congratulations NHS Mustangs for bringing home TWO State Championships. Both girls and boys teams are 2A State Champions in basketball. Way to go Mustangs!

NHS Mini Chef’s Club took part in the Super Bowl Festivities. Students traveled to Las Vegas to cook alongside industry-leading chefs for NFL greats and distinguished guests. A great opportunity for our students who may want to pursue a career in the culinary field.
Good luck to our NHS Boys Varsity, and our Undefeated League Champion Girls Varsity, as they travel to Ely, NV to play in 2A Southern League Tournament. A win on Friday and these teams will head to the State Tournament in Reno. Best of luck, Mustangs.

NUSD wants to congratulate NHS senior Rylie Willis for scoring 1000+ points during her Mustang career. Without having a freshman season to accumulate points, this milestone, as amazing as it is, was even harder to reach for her. Way to go Rylie.

NHS Seniors Aniela Patalita and Kensley Beals earned the prestigious All-American honors this summer at Cheer Camp. They fundraised, worked, and saved to cheer in the London New Year’s Day Parade. Way to go ladies!
