The NHS Hiking Club recently explored Aspen Peak in the Hualapai Mountains, reaching an elevation of 8,167 feet. Students enjoyed rock climbing, photography, and the beautiful weather, even encountering snow on the trail. June 5th Friday June 6th Needles High School 2025 Senior End-of-Year Schedule Senior Parent Banquet - Avi Casino Ballroom - 5:00 pm Annual Awards Program (9th-12th grades) at 6:00 pm in the NHS Auditorium. Students will be sent an invitation if they are receiving an award. Seniors will receive their honor cords/stoles/medallions. This is a "dress nicely" event. Senior Trip/Grad Night - Seniors leave at 8:00 am for Senior Trip to Disneyland. Meet in bus circle at 7:30 am for bag check and admittance on the bus. All seniors who have paid in advance will have a ticket for Grad Night at Disneyland. Senior Walkthrough @ Vista /NMS and Honors Grad picture - Seniors who received an honors stole or cord at Awards Night will meet at NHS office at 7:45 am - newspaper will be present to take the Honors Graduate picture. ALL other seniors meet at 8:00 am in front of NHS. WEAR CAP AND GOWN - Walkthrough will begin at 8:15 am. Senior Check Out and Senior Send Off Pep Rally - Seniors need to pick up the "Final Graduation Clearance" form in the Office after Walkthrough. All of the students' teachers must sign this sheet. All accounts must be cleared through Library, Ms. Tacy and Mrs. Calderon. If the check-out sheet is not returned to Mrs. Breaux by end of this day at 3:00 pm, the student will be required to report to Mrs. Hanline on Monday, June 2nd to complete all unfinished work. Senior Send Off Pep Rally will begin at 11:35 am in the gym. Baccalaureate - 5:00 pm at the Needles Christian Church - 1409 Balboa, Needles (WEAR CAP AND GOWN) Seniors who have not turned in the "Final Graduation Clearance" form to Mrs. Breaux will report to Mrs. Hanline at 8:00 am. This is not optional!! If a student has not completed all work required for graduation, he/she must attend school each day of this week until all work is done and the "Final Graduation Clearance" form is turned in to Mrs. Breaux. Seniors WILL NOT participate in the Graduation Ceremony if the check- out sheet is not complete by noon on Friday, June 6th. Graduation Practice - MANDATORY - 8:00 am in the NHS Gym. Practice should be complete by 10:00 am. If you must miss practice or will be late, you are required to let Mrs. Breaux know, in writing, ahead of time. If you do not inform Mrs. Breaux prior to the absence or tardy, you will be removed from the graduation line-up and will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony. BE ON TIME FOR PRACTICE FOR BOTH DAYS. PARTICIPATION IS A PRIVILEGE. Graduation Practice - MANDATORY- 8:00 am. Meet on the east side of the gym for line- up and practice processional. Practice should be finished by 9:30 am. Return for yearbook signing in the gym - 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. GRADUATION: REPORT TO THE AUDITORIUM NO LATER THAN 7:30 pm!! Senior class president Audi Andrews spoke on a panel, and guest speaker Justin Hudson shared valuable insights about dreams and self-belief. Today, our high school math class had a unique learning opportunity with Mayor Jernigan, who spoke about auto, home, life, and umbrella insurance. She shared valuable insights on the current challenges facing California homeowners, including rising insurance rates, and how we can work to lower those costs. The Mayor emphasized the importance of good grades and maintaining a strong credit score to secure the best insurance rates. Students asked thoughtful questions on topics like getting insurance independently, the impact of tickets or accidents, and protecting oneself from insurance fraud. We appreciate Mayor Jernigan’s time and expertise. It was a great learning experience! #connectedtoneedlesusd
