Sports season is almost here! If your student plans to participate in high school athletics this fall, now is the time to schedule their required sports physical.
Tri-State Community Healthcare is offering sports physicals by appointment Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional Saturday appointments available on July 18 and July 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

A refrigerated delivery van will visit community locations each Wednesday. Parents, guardians, or children may pick up meal bags.
Each meal bag includes 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches

Be registered in Aktivate (formerly Register My Athlete) with all required forms completed and approved.
Please complete both requirements before the first day to ensure you're eligible to participate.

Needles High School's fall sports are almost here!
Student-athletes planning to participate this fall should make note of the upcoming start dates:
• Football Heat Acclimation: July 27–31 at 6:00 p.m.
• Volleyball Tryouts: Saturday, August 1 at 10:00 a.m.
• Cross Country: Begins Monday, August 3 (time to be announced)

Important: To participate in tryouts, all students MUST:

Students who do not have a current physical and are not registered in Aktivate will not be permitted to try out.

This November, there are two (2) seats open for election for the Needles Unified School District Board of Education. Specifically, Trustee Area 3 and Trustee Area 4 are open for election for 4-year terms (from December 2026 – December 2030) by the residents of those, respective Areas. A copy of the District’s Trustee Area Map is accessible on the District’s website.
The District’s understanding is that the earliest a Declaration of Candidacy can be filed with the County is July 13, 2026 and the final date to file a Declaration of Candidacy is August 7, 2026. Per District Board Policy, the District assumes no part of the cost of printing, handling, translating or mailing candidate statements filed pursuant to Elections Code 13307. Candidates may be required to pay their pro rata share of these costs to the District in advance as specified in Elections Code 13307 and candidate statements shall be limited to no more than 200 words.
The District encourages eligible community members who are interested in public service and supporting local schools to learn more about opportunities to serve on the Governing Board. Additional information regarding open seats, eligibility requirements, candidate filing timelines, and applicable procedures is available through the County Registrar of Voters.
